LIVING BRIDGE PROJECT: New Banners On the Bridge!
The Chinese Culture Center is very pleased to announce that a winner emerged from the earlier Living Bridge Project Open Call among 10 artists/groups with over 80 submissions. Determined through multiple rounds of votes by the Living Bridge Project Panel, which includes long-time community and public art sponsor, long-time community friend and supporter, Bay Area contemporary artist and art educator, Chinatown Progressive Association youth member leader, and CCC Chief Designer and Red Dot Award Design Winner. We would like to thank all the participants for their contribution to the art movement of the San Francisco Chinatown community.
We are pleased to announce that the winner of the "Living Bridge Project" is the duo of Emma Zhang & Henry Becker. Their eye-catching designs of a series of eight banners will attract more attention and visits to the public space as well as highlight the core spirits of the Chinese heritage for people to study and to embrace. The winner worked with CCC closely in the production of the actual banners and presented the new look on the bridge on September 16, 2017. We invite all to take a closer look on the community bridge of the new splendid landscape in Chinatown!
Living Bridge Project is supported by the Community Challenge Grants Program (CCG), with additional support from Grants for the Arts, Bloomberg Philanthropies, Wells Fargo Foundation, and CCC Contemporaries.
