California Roots Excursion to NAPA VALLEY
$110/ CCC CONTEMPORARIES
Trek To The World’s Premiere Wine Region
In the 1800’s, Chinese nearly created the entire early economic infrastructure of the world famous Napa Valley. How did they do that? The Chinese planted the first vineyards in Napa, dug the first wine caves, erected majestic stone bridges, extracted mercury valued in the millions of dollars, and built the first roads and railroads.
Join CCC’s Director of Education Darin Ow-Wing on a personal journey as he narrates both the historical contributions of Chinese while reflecting on his personal experiences of growing up in his hometown of Napa. Discover the surviving evidence of Napa’s success, including an outing to a century old winery and stone bridge, plus viewing a stunning contemporary mosaic that uniquely portrays the Chinese experience in America. Wine tasting included.
