SUPPLIES TO THRIVE
This panda carrying bamboo symbolizes how immigrants balance familiarity with adaptability. Pandas, which are closely associated with China, need specific habitats and foods to survive. Bamboo, on the other hand, can grow anywhere; it’s flexible and strong. This reflects the stories of immigrants like myself. It’s difficult to come to a new place, so we carry the tools we need to survive—familiar things like our culture to give us comfort—so we can adapt to life in a new country.

背著竹子的熊貓跟我們移民一樣，要在傳承和應變之間找到平衡。熊貓是中國的國寶，它對吃、住都很挑剔。竹子就正好相反，它堅韌、剛強，在任何地方都能生長。這講的其實就是我們移民的故事。去到一個新的地方很艱難，所以我們是有備而來——一邊帶著我們熟悉的文化、食物，一邊適應新的地方。

Este panda cargando bambú simboliza como los inmigrantes ponen en equilibrio la familiaridad con la adaptabilidad. Los pandas están fuertemente asociados con China y necesitan hábitats y alimentos específicos para sobrevivir. Por otro lado, el bambú puede crecer en cualquier lado; es flexible y fuerte. Eso refleja las historias de inmigrantes como yo. Es difícil llegar a un lugar nuevo, por esto cargamos con nosotros las herramientas que necesitamos para sobrevivir—cosas conocidas, como nuestra cultura que nos da confort–para poder adaptarnos a la vida en un país nuevo.
