[World Journal] Chi Chi Master: Disability Art Residency Program Unveiled on the First Day of the Chinese New Year
The Chinese Cultural Center (CCC) in San Francisco held a press conference on August 8 to announce the opening of the Chi Chi Master: Disability Art Residency Program on the 10th day of the Lunar New Year. In addition to showcasing the work of Hong Kong artists with disabilities, visitors will be invited to explore the experience of living with blindness as embodied in festive rituals and cultural memories, ultimately broadening the imagination of Asian art, culture and diversity.
Also on display is "Some Joy, Some Hope, a Spark," a new mural by Bay Area illustrator, designer and artist Valerie Win Liu. The artwork is a joyful and celebratory representation of the vibrancy of Chinatown.
